Therapy Rooted in Friendship

If you ask the residents at St. Monica’s about Kelly, many won't just call her their physical therapist—they’ll call her their best friend.

"The physical therapy is in addition to my real asset, which is the connection with my clients," Kelly shares. "I love that they feel like VIPs. Our friendship helps their mental health, which in turn helps their physical health. It draws them out of their rooms and into the gym!"

This connection often goes beyond the clinic walls. Kelly recently shared a story about "The" Bob Gall, a longtime musician and client. To support Bob and his musical family, Kelly is taking him on a "date" to the Racine Theater Guild to see his family perform.

A Legacy for Grandma

Kelly’s dedication is also deeply personal. She credits much of her drive to the love she had for her grandmother, who passed away when Kelly’s son was born.

"I’m sad I couldn’t have taken care of her the way I take care of everyone here," Kelly reflects. "Part of my work here is for her. I’m hoping when I go to heaven, I’ll see her and know she’s proud of me."

Turning Fear into an Action Plan

At Arise, Kelly specializes in helping a vulnerable population navigate some of the scariest parts of life—injury, stroke, or illness. She uses "gentle coaching" to help ease the "panic button" that often comes with a new diagnosis.

"I want to share as much knowledge as possible so they know what is normal. It helps people sleep at night," she says. "I tell them: 'Give yourself grace to work through this trauma, and then let's figure out an action plan.' They need to know they aren't alone."

The Arise Difference: 50% Fewer Falls

This compassionate approach leads to real-world results. By focusing on Fall Prevention before a catastrophic injury happens, Kelly has helped implement protocols that have led to a 50% reduction in falls at her location.

At Arise Physical Therapy, it’s just you and Kelly in a bright, cheerful, private gym. No crowds—just one-on-one care designed to help you rise to your best self.
