Get to Know Kelly Bardosy, DPT (Part 2): The Mindset of a Problem Solver
In our first post, we explored how Dr. Kelly Bardosy’s passion for older adults began with a childhood of volunteering. But what happens when that lifelong calling meets world-class clinical training? In Part 2 of our series, we look at how Kelly’s education and "Type A" drive shaped the unique care you’ll find at Arise Physical Therapy.
From Big 10 Energy to Critical Thinking
Kelly’s academic path took her from the University of Minnesota to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Marquette University. While the "Big 10" environment was impactful, Marquette instilled the high-level work ethic and confidence she carries today.
"Marquette had high expectations," Kelly explains. "They taught me to be a critical thinker—to realize that no one else is going to figure out the problem but you! It built my confidence to try new things and really dig deep."
Thinking Outside the Box
For Kelly, physical therapy isn’t just about going through the motions or repeating the same exercises. She identifies as a problem solver first.
"I want to solve a problem for my clients versus just doing exercises to do them," she says. This drive often leads her to think outside the box. She recalls a time at Marquette when a professor—an electrical engineer by trade—helped provide specialized insight for a client with a unique challenge. That willingness to go "above and beyond" is exactly what Kelly brings to her private clinic today.
The "Overachiever" Advantage
Kelly describes herself as "Type A" and overachieving, but for her patients, this means having an advocate who is always prepared and always doing extra work behind the scenes. Whether it’s researching a specific condition or reaching out to experts, Kelly is driven to ensure her patients see real results.
"I like to be busy and productive," she says. "I want to be the one who finds the solution that helps my patients regain their independence."
