As the leaves begin to turn, St. Monica’s Senior Living is excited to open its doors to the public for a series of insightful and empowering sessions this October. Designed for seniors, caregivers, family members, and anyone interested in crucial topics related to health and safety, the October Insight / Action Series is a must-attend event in the Racine community.

Held every Wednesday in October from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, these sessions feature expert speakers on a wide range of subjects. Here’s a look at what you can expect:

Wednesday, October 1st | Dementia Basics with Hospice Alliance Understanding dementia is the first step toward providing compassionate care. This session will help you recognize the signs and symptoms of dementia and, just as importantly, offer valuable guidance on caring for the caregiver. It's an essential program for anyone on this journey.

Wednesday, October 8th | Dignity & End of Life with St. Croix Hospice This sensitive but vital topic will be addressed with expertise and compassion. Preparing for end-of-life care is an important part of life planning, and this session will provide a supportive environment to learn about maintaining dignity and honoring wishes.

Wednesday, October 15th | Therapeutic Communication Communication is a powerful tool, especially in challenging situations. This session will teach you "calming scripts" and effective behavioral responses to help you navigate difficult conversations with a loved one or client. These are practical skills you can put to use immediately.

Wednesday, October 22nd | Fall Prevention Falls are a major concern for senior safety. This program will offer proactive measures and strategies to help reduce the risk of falls and promote independence. We're proud to collaborate with partners like Arise Physical Therapy, whose expertise in this area is invaluable.

Wednesday, October 29th | Scam Awareness and Personal Safety with Caledonia Police Department In today's world, staying safe requires awareness. The Caledonia Police Department will share essential information on identifying and avoiding common scams and provide tips for personal safety, ensuring you or your loved ones are well-protected.
